One of those secret warriors, Terrence Burke, gives a vivid account of primitive guerrilla warfare that eventually led to an attempt by the North Vietnamese to capture him. Burke’s stories of that war are of gritty and often deadly hit and run tactics against the North Vietnamese, attempted rescues of downed pilots, and daily survival far from American support.
Terry Burke who, in 1965, was awarded the CIA Intelligence Star for Valor for his actions in Laos and was later Deputy Director and Acting Director of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, lends an undeniable level of credibility to this riveting account. Having served assignments in Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Central America, Terry tells his tale as only one who’s "been there" can.
