Panda Security Boosts Security for SMBs with Integrated Solution Combining Protection and Management into a Single Platform
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Panda Security, The Cloud Security Company, today announced the release of Panda Cloud Office Protection (PCOP) version 6.7. This new version provides significant technological and functional improvements to help SMBs combat the growing number of cyber-attacks suffered by these companies. In fact, according to PandaLabs, Panda Security’s research laboratory, one of cyber-crooks’ preferred methods for attacking this type of organization is by means of new-generation malware capable of exploiting software vulnerabilities to infect systems.
In this context, users of Panda Cloud Office Protection 6.7 can, for the first time, try and install Panda Cloud Systems Management (PCSM) automatically on computers with PCOP installed. This way, PCOP customers who don’t have PCSM licenses will be able to try PCSM and see its potential with a couple of clicks. This new feature provides organizations with a fully integrated platform that combines security and management, enabling them to defend themselves against cyber-criminals and take control of everything that happens on their networks.
“The number of cyber-attacks hitting businesses is increasing as cyber-crooks look for easy targets, especially since SMBs do not always implement appropriate security measures,” said Manuel Santamaría, Global Product Manager at Panda Security. “On many occasions, this is due to the fact that they find it too difficult to manage their network security or don’t have a dedicated budget for it."
Main New Features
The latest version of PCOP incorporates significant improvements from previous versions. One of its main new features is the inclusion of new anti-malware technologies to detect exploits and new-generation malware before every other security vendor.
This new anti-exploit technology detects and neutralizes malware like Blackhole or Redkit that exploits zero-day vulnerabilities (in Java, Adobe, MS Office, etc.) to infect computers. Similarly, it monitors suspicious processes in real time and detects hundreds of new or as-yet unidentified malware strains everyday, including unknown variants of existing viruses.
"These new features aim to provide SMBs with even better protection, as our Collective Intelligence system enables us to detect more vulnerabilities than our competitors and protect our customers in real time, especially against the new malware variants that appear everyday,” added Santamaria.
Additionally, with Panda Cloud Office Protection Advanced, administrators will be able to set time limits in the URL filtering feature, restricting access to certain Web pages during work hours.
