MTS Introduces Economical Sensor for Embedded Applications
Cary, NC (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- MTS Systems Corp., Sensors Division, today introduced the new Temposonics® Model EE Sensor for use in applications where space and budget constraints are a concern. The Model EE is a compact sensor that can be fully embedded inside a hydraulic cylinder. It is the newest addition to the Temposonics E-Series, which offers the economics, reliability, durability and ease of use of linear magnetostrictive sensors to those customers who don’t necessarily need advanced performance levels.
“We developed the Model EE sensor based on very specific customer requests," Matt Hankinson, technical marketing manager with MTS Sensors, explained. “They needed a more compact sensor with a low price point that could be embedded inside cylinders for harsh environments such as high temperature.”
With a higher performance than other linear positioning solutions on the market, the Model EE is being marketed across many different industrial applications, including steel mill equipment where temperature is an issue, hydraulic presses, rock crushers and solar power applications.
In addition to the Model EE sensor, the E-Series includes the Model EH (rod design), Model EP (profile design) and Model EL (ultralow profile design), allowing varied solutions based on their specific design parameters.
The E-Series product family offers a range of benefits including ingress protection up to IP69K (Model EH only), compact dimensions, a cost effective M12 connector, the measurement of two positions with one sensor and more.
For higher performance applications, MTS Sensors manufactures the Temposonics R-Series, also available with a wide range of outputs.
