We Fix Now Respond to Announcement of RHPP Competition Winners
(PRWEB UK) 1 August 2013 -- According to HVP on July 25, in the article "Winners of RHPP Social Landlord Fast Track Competition Announced", £7 million has been awarded to social landlords throughout the UK in order to have renewable heating installed in homes of their tenants.
A total of 46 winners were announced, although social landlords are still able to apply for funding. Those landlords who were announced as winners will put the funding towards helping to install a variety of renewable heating appliances, such as ground source heat pumps and biomass boilers.
Bids entered into the RHPP (Renewable Heat Premium Payment) competition, launched in May, were assessed by representatives from the Energy Saving Trust, Department of Energy and Climate Change, and Scottish and Welsh Governments. Winning bids were thought to offer the most value for money and the installation of a variety of renewable heat technologies.
Greg Barker, the Energy and Climate Change Minister, told HVP that:
"The latest cash boost for social landlords will help install nearly 2400 renewable heating technologies in the homes of social tenants, helping hard pressed families save money on their energy bills."
