Duxter, the social network that gives Gamers an online place to call home, today announced the launch of an online community for players of the popular PC Game, World of Tanks. Duxter’s World of Tanks Portal enhances Gamers’ overall experience by giving them a dedicated, World of Tanks-focused site that makes it seamless for Gamers to discover new players, interact with and grow their clans, share in-game content, discuss strategy, earn rewards and compete for prizes with their clans.
Duxter built the World of Tanks Portal in direct response to what they learned from their own community of Gamers. In addition to basic features including FAQs, Wikis and videos, the World of Tanks Portal also includes core Duxter capabilities such as awards, quests and social features as well as game-specific competitive ladders and competitions.
In keeping with the company’s approach of using direct customer input to fuel innovation, Duxter built the World of Tanks Portal based upon input garnered from a survey the company conducted earlier this year. Analysis of more than 600 online survey responses indicated that about 85 percent of World of Tanks players regularly go to third-party sites and apps to engage in game-related activity, such as strategizing and sharing experiences with one another outside of the game itself. Additionally, the research demonstrated that many players were going to multiple sites and apps to access those capabilities.
“There are a lot of tools out there for World of Tanks players but there isn’t a singular destination for players to seek out,” said Duxter founder and CEO Adam Lieb. “We saw a large community of World of Tanks players forming their own community on Duxter, so we built them a dedicated portal with all the features they were looking for that either don’t exist within the game itself or they were going to multiple sites to access.”
The Duxter Clash of Clans Portal launched on July 10, 2013, and since launch over 700 clans have registered with a total roster of just under 39,000. Duxter plans to launch additional game-specific community portals in coming weeks and months.
Duxter is the only online social network that empowers, inspires and rewards gamers for exploring and expressing their enthusiasm and passion for games, across all the game platforms and content they’re into. Based in Bellevue, Washington, Duxter has 11 employees and plans to hire more in 2013. Duxter.com
