nCino Launches White Paper on Mastering Regulatory Examinations
Wilmington, N.C. (PRWEB) August 01, 2013 -- nCino, LLC, the leader in secure, cloud-based bank operating solutions to the financial services industry, is today releasing a white paper titled "Mastering Regulatory Exams: A Happy Ending to the Safety and Soundness Exam Nightmare." The paper provides an in-depth look at using emerging software solutions to minimize the impact of safety and soundness examinations on day-to-day business at banks.
"In recent years, examiners from all governing bodies have changed their expectations of bank management. Safety and soundness exams last longer, are more complex and include more examiners on site," said Jonathan Rowe, Vice President of Research and Marketing at nCino and co-author of the white paper. "Information technology should be a key component of management's strategy to execute on compliance, and community banks can embrace software solutions to better manage the risks of the bank exam process."
The paper describes how software systems can play a pivotal role in improving all five exam assessments: capital, asset quality, management, earnings, and liquidity. It also explains how the CAMELs system can be used to evaluate the impact information technology can have on a bank's ability to manage the examination process and results. The authors carried out research through the FDIC and with numerous community banks in developing the white paper, in addition to collecting quantitative and qualitative data from sources including American Banker and interviews with bank executives.
"Research and best practices from community banks demonstrates that proper use of cloud based technologies can revolutionize the safety and soundness examination process," said Jay Jenkins, Founder of Sabre Capital Group and co-author of the white paper. "Digital document management systems with standardized file organization across the bank will eliminate weeks of lost productivity for employees who previously devoted weeks of time preparing information and copying paper files in advance of an exam."
