Filmmakers Give Back to Detroit Amidst Financial Crisis
Detroit, MI (PRWEB) August 01, 2013 -- Detroit’s bankruptcy is no hindrance for three local filmmakers whose fan base gains momentum as the September 26th premiere of A Love that Hurts approaches. With many on board and as supporters flock to the Framed by Grace Films’ website, good deeds are being performed with the help of followers who are ready for the journey to a life-changing premiere. Yet, not only does the trio of Detroit-bred filmmakers showcase support of marriage done God’s way, but they are also involved in the community. With versatility and talent FBG presses towards the mark of reinventing Detroit by giving time and energy into helping beautify landscapes that have been destroyed and left dilapidating.
Although many may utter “desperate times call for desperate measures” with Detroit’s financial crisis…revitalization, improvement and restructuring are on the brink. While downtrodden times have left much community blight with abandoned homes, failing public services, escalating taxes and population decline, urban renewal is on the verge. As the community bridges together, much ado is about SOMETHING. Leave it up to the hands of groups such as Life Remodeled, and steady progress will help Detroit make a 180 degree turn.
Life Remodeled is a non-profit organization that builds and gives houses to low income families for free. They also provide counseling, financial and spiritual advice. FBG’s own Timashion Jones is at the forefront of this year’s project geared towards refining Detroit and fine-tuning a city that has much potential brewing. “I'm very thankful to God and extremely excited about being apart of it. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the volunteers from across our city and region come together to bless a family right here in our hometown of Detroit. We [FBG] heard about this and couldn't wait to use the footage to tell an awesome story about this great work in our city,” Jones says.
As the host of the upcoming house revealing, Jones will be amongst the deserving family who will be gifted a new home and Detroit Mayor Dave Bing who is expected to be the event’s speaker. “Our city is in desperate need of positivity! Recently, we have been on international news with so many negative reports. It's extremely refreshing to see something like this. This is the very thing that will bring this city out of its current condition,” Jones says.
More than 5,000 volunteers will gather for a weeklong project. Local Detroit businesses, organizations and churches will build, remodel, board up and preserve nearby homes and neighborhoods.
