Management Specialists Services Named Best Company to Work For – 2013!

Management Specialists Services, a local small business, was recently named one of Florida’s Best Companies To Work For. They were the ONLY Community Association Management Firm to receive this designation.

The award from Florida Trend and Best Companies Group was bestowed after in-depth evaluations of the company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, leadership, systems and demographics and also included a survey measuring employee satisfaction.

While the community association management company is unique in many ways, its hiring process stands out. If you can make it through the interview process at Management Specialists Services, you are family. The company employs a rigorous recruiting process consisting of a three-tier interview phase, personality tests, personal budget discussion and an interview with a candidates’ significant other. Operations Officer Corey Conner states that though this process is tedious, it results in quality staff who become part of the close-knit small company’s family. “We don’t care what your budget is or who you date, but we do know that personal lives play a huge role in employee satisfaction, and if your personal budget doesn’t align with the salary we can offer, it will never work long-term. It’s tough to get in the door, but once you’re in, you are a member of an elite team,” says Conner.

The hiring process was instituted in 2009 when Sarah Conner was Managing Partner for Management Specialists and shortly after purchased all association contracts and created Management Specialists Services. Says President and CEO Sarah Conner, “We purchased a great foundation, but we know the key to any good business is the people and we only wanted the best for our team. We knew we could take community association management to another level with the right people, and we have done just that.” Since taking over, the company has undergone a radical transformation starting with staff, implementing creative management strategies, migrating to a paperless office, instituting a green initiative, focusing on customer service and more. Openings tend to be for licensed CAM positions, and the company assists in licensure and additional training for its team members. The most recent hires have come from team member referrals.
