Tripwire's foundational security controls, continuous monitoring capabilities, and focus on the delivery of actionable guidance for the business aligns perfectly with the ICS-ISAC mission of keeping critical infrastructure safe and secure.
Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) August 01, 2013
Tripwire, Inc., a leading global provider of risk-based security and compliance management solutions, today announced that it has joined the Industrial Control System Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ICS-ISAC) as a sponsoring member. ICS-ISAC is a nonprofit Knowledge Sharing Center established to help facilities develop situational awareness in support of local, national and international security.
“I'm delighted that Tripwire is now officially a part of the ICS-ISAC community,” said Dwayne Melancon, chief technology officer for Tripwire. “Many of our customers in energy, manufacturing, oil and gas, and transportation leverage industrial control systems, and these organizations rely on security guidance from the ICS-ISAC. Tripwire's foundational security controls, continuous monitoring capabilities, and focus on the delivery of actionable guidance for the business aligns perfectly with the ICS-ISAC mission of keeping critical infrastructure safe and secure.”
Tripwire has a long history of support and involvement with ICS-ISAC and is a major contributor to ICS-ISACs Situational Awareness Reference Architecture (SARA). SARA is a practical compilation of standard practices, processes and technologies that can be used by asset owners, knowledge centers and their public and private partners to guide the implementation of local and shared situational awareness.
“When a company with Tripwire’s history and perspective joins our efforts, it’s an indication of the maturity of the industrial cybersecurity market,” said Chris Blask, ICS-ISAC chair. “Tripwire brings an understanding of the requirement for open-source solutions as well as solid commercial business models to the ICS-ISAC community – a combination that’s critical to the challenges faced by infrastructure operators.”
About the Industrial Control System Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ICS-ISAC)
ICS-ISAC is a horizontal ISAC with a mission to capture and transport critical cybersecurity information between vertical ISACs and impacted parties. Industrial Control Systems are the electronic systems used to operate physical processes ranging from power generation and distribution to building operations, healthcare, transportation, manufacturing and agriculture. The United States Department of Homeland Security segments national Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR) into 16 sectors, each of which relies on the safe operation of Industrial Control Systems. The ICS-ISAC was established by ICS Cybersecurity, Inc. with the support of industry organizations including Amor Group, SAIC, CSC, IBM, Yokogawa, Invensys, Emerson and others.
