These days, men are concerned with grooming and not with the association of being a “grooming and fashion obsessed male.”
Male only salons have become increasingly more popular, according to the article. One salon, HALO, was detailed in the article as having exceptional growth over the past few years. Owner Rober Patrizi’s partner, Liz Vitellaro, was quoted in the article as saying, “The idea was that Bob wanted to create a place where men could feel comfortable getting any grooming service they needed, from cut to color to manicures.” The salon has grown to six salons around Chicago.
Some men, however, still opt for the perfect barbershop cut and shave. Salons like the Belmont Barber Shop in Chicago specialize in classic cuts and razor shaves, but can also do popular styles like pompadours.
