Nerover had their soft launch on December 2012 where the team came up for several experiments to develop and introduce the product within its area. Subsequently, they went live on July 2013 expanding their niche.
The company is very basic where the user uploads its product, puts a price, and shares a link. Buyers will be directed to a one-page check out where they need to pay via Paypal Account. Registered users can sell physical items like clothes, jewelries, gadgets, etc, or digital items e-books, music, videos, etc or services like web designing, blogging, photography, etc - on its product listing page where they can place their asking price for each of their products and share the links to their social network friends and followers.
In comparison with other e-commerce platforms which charged 5%+, 2.9%+ or 3%+ fees, Nerover only charged 2.5% per transaction to the users. According to Irish, “We would like to reiterate that our vision is to help social merchants and individuals to solve their problem, not to produce another expensive one.”
Irish Perez, co-founder of Nerover is an online seller who was inspired by the evolution of e-commerce & technology progress. According to her, she herself had a tough time in selling her products through expensive and complicated online shops. “From my experience, it takes 2 days to make an online shop with all the designs and check outs but after publishing my site and paying for the upfront fees, there is still a lot of limitation involved, in a long run, I need to pay more. By the time my online shop is fully established my ROI is impossible. Every month I have to pay fees and its spending all of my profit. For this reason Nerover is designed to be simple and cheaper than any other platforms in the market,” Irish explained.
Currently, Nerover works only with Paypal accounts, however, Irish says that by the end of the year the team will expand their services and will add more features in order to encourage more people to be a social merchant.
As part of Nerover’s going live, the team is celebrating their commencement by having a product contest posted on its various social network accounts.
