Why Your Father's A Republican... And You Should Be Too! Just in time to kick off the campaign season for the 2014 mid-term elections, author J. Alan Williams has released this road map to victory for the Republican Party.
This book is aimed at the upcoming generation but the information within would likely be interesting to any conservative reader.
"For the most part our children spend the entire school day being taught by liberal leaning educators. We want them to believe what they are taught about math and science but do we want them to believe revisionist history or slanted beliefs on social justice?"
Williams reviews the Republican Party's basic tenants and corrects many of the mistaken beliefs about the role the party has played in our country's history, all while cautioning the reader to carefully evaluate everything they are taught in school or learn from the media. For example, his no-nonsense, fact based, evaluation of the Clinton years.
"During Mr. Clinton's presidency our country was attacked four times* by Muslim terrorists (once on our own soil) and our country offered no meaningful response. This failure to adequately respond could have quite possibly contributed to the attack against us on 9/11/2001."
"Mr. Clinton left office with our country in a recession that began during his last quarter and was passed onto President George W. Bush."
"Mr. Clinton was the first President to have articles of impeachment filed against him by Congress since Andrew Johnson in 1868. He was acquitted at the impeachment hearing but later found to be in contempt of court for committing perjury (lying under oath) before a federal grand jury, and was subsequently disbarred (losing his license to practice law)."
"In history, things are not always as you may have been told."
This book covers many topics including what Williams defines as being a "true conservative", the 2012 election, economics, gun control, and some places where the Republican Party may need to make some adjustments.
This is an excellent book that illustrates to a teen or young adult why their parents' viewpoints may differ from those of their teachers' and from what they may hear in the mainstream media.
