Carlisle Police National Night Out to Feature a Skydiving Team Performance
Carlisle, OH (PRWEB) August 05, 2013 -- The Carlisle Police Department is hosting this years "National Night Out" on Tuesday, August 7th from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Carlisle Borough swimming pool. Over 37 million people in over 15,000 communities across the country will join forces to promote police-community partnerships, crime and drug prevention, safety and neighborhood unity. The Department will provide food and drinks, public safety displays and music. Included in the festivities will be a patriotic American flag skydive, with Team Fastrax’s 2,000 sq. ft. flag, and red, white, and blue streamers.
John Hart, owner of Start Skydiving, and founder of Team Fastrax, said “We are honored to be performing at an event with such significance. It’s a wonderful thing to see communities coming together and taking steps to keep crime out of their neighborhoods. The men and women who put their lives on the line to protect us on a daily basis deserve our appreciation and support.”
National Night Out is an event created by National Association of Town Watch (NATW). According to their website, they are a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of various crime prevention programs including neighborhood watch groups, law enforcement agencies, state and regional crime prevention associations, businesses, civic groups, and individuals, devoted to safer communities. The nation’s premiere crime prevention network works with law enforcement officials and civilian leaders to keep crime watch volunteers informed, interested, involved and motivated. The introduction of National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, in 1984 began an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. NATW’s National Night Out program culminates annually, on the first Tuesday of August (In Texas, the first Tuesday of October).
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 7th from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Roscoe Roof Park. Come out, enjoy some free food and meet your public safety officers and staff.
