“We have an active group of bilingual attorneys and staff who are dedicated to outreach with the Spanish-speaking members of our community,” said Attorney Rick Fleming, head of the firm’s Latino Affairs committee.

Earlier this year the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin helped sponsor the 9th Annual Ritmo Latino Festival by Diamante Inc. in Cary, NC.

Sponsoring the festival is part of the firm’s Latino Affairs Committee’s goal to reach out to the Spanish-speaking community in North Carolina.

“It means a lot to me that a firm would reach out to the Spanish community,” said Carlos Avila, a Colombian immigrant who attended the festival. “I think a lot of Latinos tend to be mistrustful of the legal system and for a group to make a concerted effort to get involved in our culture makes a difference.”

Over 50 different vendors lined each side of South Academy Street for the festival on June 22nd and stages featuring different performances about every half hour closed off the ends. The festival also featured a children’s corner with inflatables and an area for soccer that hosted a clinic with the Carolina RailHawks.

“I am proud of our work in the Latino community and enjoyed being a part of the Ritmo Latino festival again this year. We were able to speak with many people and offer information to many in need,” said Daniela Bermeo, who helped staff the James Scott Farrin booth.

According to Bermeo, this is the second time the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin has helped sponsor the Ritmo Latino festival.

“We have an active group of bilingual attorneys and staff who are dedicated to outreach with the Spanish-speaking members of our community,” said Attorney Rick Fleming, head of the firm’s Latino Affairs committee. “It is our goal to ensure that all are aware of their rights.”

According to Fleming, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin currently serve as PALE attorneys with the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh and will continue to maintain an active presence in the Latino community.
