Carson Dunlop Partners with Monroe County Community College
Des Plaines, IL (PRWEB) August 06, 2013 -- Carson Dunlop and Monroe County Community College have formed a strategic partnership to offer a career home inspection training program through the non-credit division of the college.
The comprehensive 10-course certificate program is available through distance learning via MCCC’s Office of Lifelong learning, which is housed in the Corporate and Community Services Division. Content is delivered in a highly visual and easy to understand format. The program is focused on practical applied technical knowledge, providing a solid foundation for success in the home inspection field.
The comprehensive education program covering all aspects of the home inspection profession was created by two leaders in the field – Carson Dunlop and the American Society of Home Inspectors. The 10 courses were developed in collaboration with education design consultants and distance education specialists.
“We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Monroe County Community College,” commented Alan Carson, President of Carson Dunlop. “The ability to offer our program through reputable colleges creates new opportunities for individuals looking to pursue a career in the home inspection field.”
“The partnership enhances Monroe County Community College’s ability to offer quality, relevant, non-credit lifelong learning programs to our students," said Tina Pillarelli, Director of Lifelong Learning at MCCC. “The new courses will broaden the variety of topics currently available at the college.”
The education program leverages Carson Dunlop's 35 years as a leading consulting engineering firm in the home inspection field. Carson Dunlop have considerable experience on the education side of home inspection, including classroom teaching, published textbooks, online courses, conference presentations, webinars, papers and articles. The program uses a consistent methodology across the 10 textbooks and CD-ROMs. The focus is on practical applied knowledge rather than theoretical discussion. As part of the education program, Carson Dunlop provides six months free access to their cloud-based report writing system, Horizon when students graduate, to help them develop the necessary report writing skills.
