Gatto, who was born with only one arm, created 4th and 10 Kicking and Punting after a great collegiate career and after playing for nine years in the Arena Football League (AFL).
“I wanted to give back to the Houston and San Antonio area,” says Gatto. “Under our guidance, kickers, punters, holders, and snappers are taught the basic techniques needed to be successful. We teach that to be the best, you must be consistent and set yourself apart from your competition.”
Gatto adds that great football technique is not the only tool needed to achieve success.
“We believe that faith, values, family dedication, goal setting and mental preparation are all important elements in being successful,” says Gatto. “When you join the 4th and 10 family, you will also be joining the Gatto family. We treat each student as if they are a part of our family attending football games, pep rallies, and other student functions in show of support.”
Kicking coach Michael Husted, who created the National Camp Series (NCS) after kicking in the NFL for 9 years, says 2013 is going to be a great season for NCS and its Associates.
“2012 shaped up to be the best year yet for the National Camp Series,” says Husted. “We have introduced our Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System and are positioned extremely well in 2013 to leverage analytics to showcase our athletes, and provide objective high school kicking specialists’ statistics, to college and university coaches.”
Husted says that by utilizing its Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, NCS provides an objective evaluation platform for student-athletes who want to showcase their capabilities to colleges and universities for recruiting purposes.
By sorting through over six years of historical event data, the KIX system determines a kicker’s rankings by cross-referencing player data to determine how the athletes stack up against others, both presently and historically.
“The NCS levels the playing field for those who don't want to get caught up in all of the ‘politics’ that occurs in the kicking industry,” says Husted. “If you can kick, punt or snap, the NCS KIX system will let a young kicking specialist’s skills speak for themselves. No excuses. No explanations.”
