South Wales police have released CCTV footage of a jewellery shop in the Welsh town of Porthcawl that was targeted by three men who allegedly committed a twenty minute robbing spree, reports BBC News on July 31 in their article ‘Porthcawl jewellery robbery puts two women in hospital’.
The BBC reports that two women, understood to be sales assistants, were in a stable condition in hospital following the incident on July 31. According to the article, it is believed three men entered the store at 10.10am and used an “aerosol incapcitant” to knock out the women before blindfolding them.
The BBC reports that the men then spent 20 minutes in the store, leaving on foot with a large amount of jewellery. All three of the alleged men were dressed in white shirts, two wore denim jeans and one wore dark trousers. Two men wore Jewish skull caps and the third had dark hair.
Acting Detective Constable Jason Redrup said: "From the actions of the men involved it appears it was a professional robbery. They may have done this before and may do in the future.”
A spokesperson from AlertSystems said:
“From the information gathered from this robbery, it would appear the theft was highly organised and that the thieves knew what they were doing. Thankfully there was a CCTV security system present and police have been able to release images of these men in the hopes of identifying and locating them.”
