Edgenuity Approved as a Nevada Virtual Education Provider
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Edgenuity, a leading provider of online and blended learning solutions, today announced that its curriculum and instructional model have been reviewed by the Nevada Department of Education and found to meet state requirements to serve as a Distance Education Approved Course Provider for grades 6-12. Over 75 of Edgenuity’s courses have been certified for use in Nevada Distance Education programs, effective through July 1, 2016.
“Edgenuity is pleased to partner with the Nevada Department of Education to provide schools and districts with a diverse range of personalized online education options,” said Sari Factor, CEO of Edgenuity. “We’re looking forward to working with students across Nevada, providing access to engaging curriculum and powerful online tools that help them become self-directed learners and prepare them for college and career success.”
Nevada’s rigorous approval process includes multiple stages of review. In addition to applying to receive general approval as a Distance Education provider, Edgenuity was required to submit a course application, syllabus, and alignment documentation for each class proposed for Distance Education approval. With over 75 applications approved, Edgenuity can now service districts in Nevada as they implement Distance Education programs across a wide range of subject areas. Furthermore, districts can choose to use Edgenuity’s teaching services when assigning instructors for virtual courses.
