On December 14, 2013 - National Wreaths Across America Day - Wreaths Across America will join forces with volunteer pilots from Skybound Aviation at Georgia National Cemetery and Marietta National Cemetery in the morning. Together, these volunteers will lay wreaths at the headstones of our fallen heroes in order to honor the various past, present, and future members of the military and their families.
Evanthe Papastathis is the owner of the Atlanta flight school, as well the Location Leader of Wreaths Across America at Georgia National Cemetery. “The first time I held this event I thought I was doing this for me; however, when I looked out at the crowd and saw all those faces I knew I was doing this for them as well. It is my hope to be able to place a wreath at every grave every year. This is a daunting challenge as so many are laid to rest daily at the new cemetery, Georgia National Cemetery,” said Papastathis.
