Ms. Cockerham has previously helped provide legal services for immigrants and refugees at a number of nationally-renowned immigrant rights organizations, including the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, the National Immigrant Justice Center, and the International Rescue Committee. She formerly clerked at the Executive Office of Immigration Review in Tucson, Arizona.

Ms. Cockerham received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arizona Law School, where she was the winner of the Chandler-Carroll Award for Excellence in Public Interest Law. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Cockerham worked as a high school teacher in Brooklyn, NY, and for the Colorado State Public Defender, Appellate Division, in Denver, CO. She is fluent in Spanish.
