Price Benowitz LLP is proud to announce the addition of attorney April Cockerham to the firm’s Immigration Law practice group. Ms. Cockerham has previously helped provide legal services for immigrants and refugees at a number of nationally-renowned immigrant rights organizations, including the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, the National Immigrant Justice Center, and the International Rescue Committee. She formerly clerked at the Executive Office of Immigration Review in Tucson, Arizona.
“Successful attorneys have a strong personal commitment to the area of law that they practice and the clients that they serve,” said firm co-founder David Benowitz. “April is an attorney who demonstrates that level of commitment, and we’re very pleased to have her as part of our immigration law team.”
“I couldn't be happier to be joining Price Benowitz,” said attorney April Cockerham. “Increasing public interest and engagement in immigration law and policy make it an exciting time to be an immigration lawyer right now, and I'm thrilled to be beginning this chapter at such a dynamic and growing firm.”
Ms. Cockerham received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arizona Law School, where she was the winner of the Chandler-Carroll Award for Excellence in Public Interest Law. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Cockerham worked as a high school teacher in Brooklyn, NY, and for the Colorado State Public Defender, Appellate Division, in Denver, CO. She is fluent in Spanish.
“I’m happy to welcome April to the team on behalf of everyone at Price Benowitz,” said firm co-founder Seth Price. “We anticipate her professional character and experience in immigration law will be a tremendous asset to our firm and the clients we assist.”
