Sagetech Corporation, Creator of High Performance Clarity Ads-b Receivers, Releases New Comparison Video
Hood River, Oregon (PRWEB) August 03, 2013 -- “Clarity is designed to be the finest ADS-B receiver in the market,” remarked Sagetech’s President, Kelvin Scribner, “not the cheapest.”
Sagetech Corporation, having started as an avionics innovator for unmanned aircraft, made its official entry into the manned aviation market early this year. Sagetech introduced its high performance Clarity ADS-B Receiver to provide unprecedented integration for the general aviation pilot.
Sagetech Corporation’s “Sensitivity Matters Video” compares Clarity SV with Stratus Second Generation (internal antenna) and Dual XGPS170. The receivers were paired and placed on the glare shield of the flight test aircraft, either a Cessna 182 Skylane or a Cirrus SR22.
“To collect data, we looked at the number of ADS-B transmission towers received as recorded by the appropriate EFB app running on an iPad, either WingX Pro7 or ForeFlight. We also recorded GPS altitude and location along the flight path,” noted Scribner.
The flight path was between Hood River, Oregon and the Seattle area – Auburn or Boeing Field – over the foothills of the Cascade Range. The appropriate VFR cruising altitudes were 7,500 or 8,500 feet MSL, where line-of-sight ADS-B coverage is difficult at best.
Clarity SV began to receive stations soon after takeoff and continued to provide the safety benefits of ADS-B coverage throughout the entire flight. The other two ADS-B receivers performed differently, neither supplying continuous coverage. Scribner goes on to say: “High performance matters, especially over rugged terrain like the Cascades. As a pilot, that’s where I want reliable performance.” Click to watch Sensitivity Matters.
