Ashworth College Graduation Helps With Habitat For Humanity Build
Norcross, GA (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- For the fifth consecutive year, Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu) has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of DeKalb County to work together and renovate a house as part of the online school’s 2013 Graduation Week activities. The Ashworth College graduation ceremony took place on August 3, 2013 at the Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta, GA.
More than 20 Ashworth employee and student volunteers spent the day working on a variety of repair, cosmetic, and landscaping projects in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Ashworth College’s participation with Habitat for Humanity is designed to service more families and increase opportunities for volunteers and sponsors.
“Ashworth works to improve lives in every way,” said Rob Klapper, Ashworth College President and CEO. “We are proud to continue working with Habitat for Humanity and always look forward to helping families continue to live independently and securely.” Ashworth was the first online school to sponsor a student campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Ashworth College sponsored several fundraisers to raise donations for Habitat for Humanity. The money will help offset material costs associated with the various home repair projects.
Ashworth College is a long been a supporter of social causes including Children’s Miracle Network, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Atlanta Ronald McDonald Charities, the American Cancer Society, and the American Red Cross.
