LocalGrid Set to Unveil Next-Generation Smart Grid Platform and Strategic RTI Partnership at NIWeek 2013
Missisauga, Ontario (PRWEB) August 05, 2013 -- LocalGrid Technologies (http://www.localgridtech.com), an innovative Toronto-based software company, today announced its involvement in NIWeek 2013 and the release of its next generation MicroGrid embedded software platform, eGridOS™.
"The electrical grid will be radically transformed over the next 10 years, moving from a centralized model of power generation and distribution to a less capital-intensive MicroGrid model," said Bob Leigh, CEO of LocalGrid. "This is driven in part by the introduction of distributed renewable sources of generation. Our technology allows renewables that are currently blocked to come online without costly infrastructure investment."
In addition to the release of LocalGrid’s eGridOS™ software and live product demos, LocalGrid will formally launch its partnership with RTI. RTI (http://www.rti.com) is the real-time infrastructure software company and provides the messaging backbone for the world's most demanding real-time systems. RTI Connext™ enables applications – running on the smallest devices and the largest enterprise servers – to seamlessly share information and work together as one.
RTI and LocalGrid bring a wealth of military and civilian market experience, and together, they deliver a solution that will greatly assist in securing and command & control of critical energy assets in the field. Both RTI and LocalGrid will be conducting distributed demos at their booths at NIWeek.
The unveiling of LocalGrid’s new technology will take place on August 5th, 2013 during their Day 1 Keynote presentation at the NIWeek Energy Technology Summit. NIWeek is the world’s leading graphical system design conference and exhibition hosted by National Instruments. More than 3,200 engineers, educators and scientists from around the world are expected to attend the conference.
To learn more about the benefits of eGridOS and the RTI partnership and joint solution, attendees can visit the RTI booth #433 and the LocalGrid booth #431 at NIWeek.
