Averett University is seeking an experienced professional with a proven track record of teaching and providing leadership in an accredited higher education nursing program. The chair of nurse education will utilize his/her diverse experience to develop, implement and direct the university’s new nursing program, its faculty and curriculum. He or she will ensure compliance with the Virginia Board of Nursing regulations and SACSCOC accreditation requirements, as well as seek accreditation of the nursing program by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Other responsibilities include leading strategic planning, budget development, new program development and evaluation, faculty/staff recruitment and evaluation, self-study process and standardized testing. The chair of nurse education will be familiar with the current use of technology in nursing education as well as a current knowledge of registered nursing practices.
