The Shower Doctor: Study shows Brits spend 100 hours in shower each year
Edinburgh (PRWEB UK) 5 August 2013 -- From twice a day to even just twice a week, we’ve all got our own habits – but with statistics claiming us Brits spend approximately 100 hours in the bath or shower each year, even these figures took The Shower Doctor by surprise.
According to a report published by ITV.com, the survey showed that 20 per cent of the men accused their other half of taking too long in the shower compared to that of 15 per cent of women – yet interestingly enough, on average men spend an extra 30 seconds longer compared to their female counterparts.
Director at The Shower Doctor, Kevin Thomson, said: “Considering most people take a few minutes in the shower, when it’s all added up it seems that we take far longer than we initially thought! However, what really shocked us was to see that men are guilty of spending much more time in the shower – which could see some interesting debates arise between the battle of the sexes the next time people complain about going for a shower.”
The study also detailed that those aged between 18 and 24 spend approximately 25 per cent longer in the bath – and take almost twice as long in the shower than those older than them.
“The recent heatwave has also contributed to people spending more time in the shower,” added Thomson. “Whether it’s enjoying a long cold shower or having to go for more than one shower a day to combat the sticky weather, there might be a slight influx in figures this year!”
Another interesting statistic saw over a quarter of those surveyed (26 per cent) listen to music in the bathroom, and one in seven (15 per cent) sing to themselves whilst showering.
