FacilitySource, the world leader in facility maintenance management for geographically dispersed real estate portfolios, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Gentry as Vice President Human Resources to the executive team. “As we continue implementing our expansion strategy, the next logical step is to add a seasoned Human Resources executive to our leadership team,” commented Bill Hayden, FacilitySource CEO. “We were looking for someone with a track record of successfully leading organizations with large and diverse employee populations through periods of growth and expansion, and we definitely found that in Mike.”
Prior to joining FacilitySource, Gentry served in executive Human Resources roles at multinational corporations including Bell Helicopter, Boeing, Amkor Technology, The Las Vegas Sands Corporation, Semblant Technology, and Stantec Engineering.
While at Stantec, Gentry supported and aligned HR processes across eight newly-acquired domestic and international operations, and standardized the HR operations of four separate North American operations to a single, best-in-class approach. “One of Mike’s many strengths is his ability to swiftly assimilate new with existing staff, resulting in very high performing teams,” said FacilitySource CEO Bill Hayden. “Mike’s expertise in this area will be vital to FacilitySource’s growth and acquisition strategy.”
Gentry’s success has been due in part to his deep conviction that the Human Resources function is first and foremost a customer service function. “Our mission in Human Resources is to provide all employees – from frontline team members to executives – the right type of HR services,” said Gentry. “That means being responsive. It means providing accurate and timely services and information.
When asked what excites him about the opportunities at FacilitySource, Gentry stated, “We are poised to be a real monster in this industry. We have game-changing technology, we have the growth plans, and we have the pipeline of potential contracts. We’re growing…and we’re growing very fast. For a Human Resources professional, this is the perfect storm. You get to come on board at a time where the company is poised for growth and you get to help build the team to execute that growth.
As FacilitySource continues to build on its technology capabilities, hiring world-class talent will be a top priority. “All you have to do is look at our website and you’re going to see a lot of IT jobs, data analyst jobs, and account manager jobs," said Gentry. “We’re building capacity across all three facilities – in Columbus, Phoenix and Racine.”
Gentry’s goals over the next few months include working with the senior leadership team to define strategies and initiatives to solidify FacilitySource as an employer of choice. “We want people to think of FacilitySource when they think of the facility maintenance management industry,” said Gentry. “There’s a lot of work to be done, but it’s all good work. It’s a very exciting time to be here.”
