Ice Skating raises Funds for National Children’s Cancer Charity
(PRWEB UK) 7 August 2013 -- The company have been raising funds by staging family fun days throughout 2012 and 2013 in all 10 of its rinks in the UK. Every rink in the UK opens its doors to the local community with free learn to skate sessions, public skating, cake stalls, games and competitions, and in some rinks even the odd appearance from Dancing on Ice professional skaters.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Nicola White said, "Thank you to Planet Ice for choosing to support CLIC Sargent over the past two years. It’s been a great success with each Fun Day being very popular and I hope our partnership continues to be a triumph. The fantastic amount that Planet Ice has raised so far could help pay for a family to stay for a month in one of CLIC Sargent’s eight Homes from Home, providing free self-catering accommodation near to specialist children’s cancer treatment centres, which are often many miles from a family’s own home. Staying in a Home from Home ensures a family can be close to their child during treatment."
Planet Ice MD John Neville commented, "We are very proud to be a contributor to CLIC Sargent. It’s an excellent cause and we hope to raise more money and awareness for them at out next Fun Day on Wednesday August 21."
