The rail road systems in the United States represented one of the most important contributing factors in early industrial growth. Thanks to pioneers like Cornelius Vanderbilt and John D. Rockefeller, the American rail road system spawned rapid economic growth. The ability to transport goods and passengers via rail road set the trend for the American economy. One of the oldest railroads to still operate under its original name is the Long Island Rail Road. In order to remain in service, the Long Island Rail Road requires regular maintenance. Atlantic Concrete Cutting Inc. has been contracted to help make some repairs and upgrades along the Long Island Rail Road system.

Atlantic Concrete Cutting Inc. has been offering concrete cutting, ground penetrating radar, road sawing, and micromilling in MA, NY, NJ, and PA for over twenty years. The Long Island Rail Road contracted with Kiewit Infrastructure Co. in April of 2013 to complete the Atlantic Ave Viaduct Rehabilitation project. Kiewit Infrastructure Co. wanted to subcontract with an organization that could provide diamond grinding in New York. Atlantic Concrete Cutting Inc. took the job and has already begun using innovative methods to help meet strict deadlines on the Long Island Rail Road Rehabilitation project.

The Long Island Rail Road is an extremely important means of public transportation. In fact, carrying 335,000 passengers daily, it is one of the busiest railways in North America. Atlantic Concrete Cutting Inc. understands the urgency of completing construction on the railway. In order to expedite the construction process, Atlantic Concrete Cutting Inc. built a unique railcar. The railcar is equipped with four Cardi six speed drills and is able to drill multiple holes simultaneously. Furthermore, the railcar travels seamlessly along the Long Island Rail Road. The second round of construction is set to take place this month and Atlantic Concrete Cutting Inc. is excited to see the end result.
