Yorktown Building's Green Roof

An aerial view of most urban areas shows images of asphalt and gravel rooftops. Yet there is a new trend that takes a different approach: green rooftops.

Best has recently relocated their Yorktown Heights store to a new building across the street, and decided to use this as an opportunity to introduce this beneficial concept.

Green rooftops have begun to appeal to homeowners, businesses and even cities as an attractive way to promote environmentalism. They are designed to absorb air and water pollutants, cool rooftop temperatures and, ultimately, cut energy costs. They also prevent stormwater runoff, which can potentially carry materials and chemicals from roofs directly into local drinking water sources.

Best’s new location opens the week of August 12th. Just look for the green rooftop!
