Krabloonik Launches Adventure Speaker Series with 4-time Iditarod Champion Lance Mackey
Aspen, CO (PRWEB) August 07, 2013 -- Krabloonik Restaurant & Dog Sledding invites the public to an extraordinary evening with speaker Lance Mackey Friday evening August 9 at 5:30 p.m. at Krabloonik Restaurant.
Lance is the embodiment of the spirit of Alaska, demonstrating grit, determination and strength - a champion in every sense of the word. He is a 4-time Iditarod Champion, the grueling 1,000+ mile race deemed the “The Last Great Race on Earth,” as well as a 4-time Yukon Quest Champion. The Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Dog Sled Race across Alaska and Canada takes place in February, a month before the Iditarod, when weather conditions are even more frigid and unpredictable. Finally, Lance is a determined cancer survivor.
Krabloonik Restaurant, an Aspen/Snowmass icon and the home of the largest dog sledding operation in the continental U.S., will host the event in conjunction with Snow Magazine and Snowmass Mountain. The evening will take place in Krabloonik’s gas-lit mountain cabin located at 4250 Divide Road, Snowmass Village, CO 81615.
Opening entertainment for the evening includes a performance by Alaska-born alternative cellist/singer/songwriter Sabe H. Flores. Hors d’oeuvres and beverage will be served. A modest cover of $15 per person applies. Reservations are appreciated.
Join us for a unique and inspiring evening. As Lance says, “tell me it can’t be done, by God…I’ll give it everything I got to prove that it can.”
