Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) August 06, 2013 -- Volunteers from CPN, a Phoenix-based credit card processing and merchant services company, recently assisted St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. The volunteers, composed of CPN employees, worked as a group to fill food bags for needy families. The event was one of the many “CPN Gives Back” projects that are part of the company’s community outreach program.
CPN employees got together at St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix on Saturday, July 20th along with their friends and family members. Despite the heat and humidity, they worked diligently to organize food bags intended for needy families. By the end of the day, the team made a substantial amount of food ready for distribution.
“What an amazing feeling to know that our team filled a total of 1,566 bags of food totaling over 25,000 lbs,” said Lori Barbarotto, Human Resources Manager at CPN. “We had a great time as a group working together.”
Previous charitable initiatives for CPN have been directed at local organizations and global initiatives. In one instance, CPN donated water self-service water filtration systems to earthquake-ravaged villages in Haiti. Some other charities supported are Mending the Soul, which offers rehabilitation services for victims of abuse, and Food for the Hungry, a project dedicated to ending world hunger.
