Tankinis in particular have enjoyed a notable boost, with sales up by 22% compared to this time last year. Leia attribute this rise down to the soaring July temperatures.

Leia also revealed that customers are choosing the complete support of underwired tankinis in increasing include Madagascar and Versailles, both from Fantasie Swim. Many of Freya and Fantasie’s tankini styles also offer adjustable straps for a versatile fit.
In addition, Leia described how their customers are three times more likely to to team their tankini with swimwear briefs than they are with shorts. The brand put this down to the greater coverage and figure-flattering shapes provided by tankinis, leading to an increase in confidence when women are choosing the other elements of their swim look.
Nigel Addison from Leia lingerie said, “With us having such a drawn out period of cold weather, customers definitely delayed purchasing swimwear however, the amazing July sunshine we’ve experienced has had a positive impact on swimwear sales for us. As a large cup size specialist lingerie retailer, some of our best selling cup sizes are an E and F cup and we know our fuller busted customers look for fantastic fit and great support, as well as style when it comes to their choice of swimwear. This can clearly be shown through our increase in sales of underwired and more supportive swim collections. We’re looking forward to seeing how sales continue throughout the remainder of summer.”
