Hendy Ford in Winchester is set to welcome a team of charity cyclists as they pass through the city later next week en route from Swindon to Paris.

The automotive group, will welcome the cyclists to the newly refurbished showroom in Winchester on Wednesday August 14, the first day of their 400 mile ride to the French capital.

The cyclists, are being supported in their four day ride by Hendy Ford and will be raising money for a range of charities.

“This is our biggest cycling challenge to date,’’ said Giles Bennet who is one of the cyclists. “The support we have received from companies such as Hendy Ford makes a massive difference to our charities.’’

The team will be cycling in yellow jerseys and although Giles said they were unlikely to replicate the speeds of Chris Froome in the recent Tour de France they would at least look the part.

Hendy Group managing director Paul Hendy said he was delighted to be supporting such a good cause. “We’ll all be out in Easton Lane to cheer on the cyclists as their challenge gets underway.’’

The money raised this year is going to three different charities; Thames Valley Air Ambulance, British Association for Immediate Care (BASICS) and bibic which cares for children with brain conditions.
