Planet Ice link with Coventry Blaze Ice hockey Team
Coventry (PRWEB UK) 7 August 2013 -- Planet Ice operate the Club’s home – the Skydome Arena – and were keen to extend their support as the club prepares to enter their 14th season in the city.
“The relationship between a team and its landlord is obviously very important,” said Blaze Chairman, Andy Buxton, “and we’re delighted that Planet Ice want to help to secure our future here by agreeing a sponsorship package with us. We will be proud to have their logo on our jerseys next season.”
The club can also confirm that the running of Crosby’s Bar will revert to Planet Ice for the forthcoming season.
“It just made sense,” said Buxton. “The Skydome area has changed significantly over the last couple of years and the bar hasn’t been used as a public bar for a while now. It’s only used to support events inside the arena so it just makes more sense for Planet Ice to operate it going forward so they can use it for all the other things they do.
“They are committed to the bar remaining an integral part of a game night experience and have already started on a programme of activity to improve the venue for our supporters. We will continue to have all the same game night activity that people enjoy and we look forward to it continuing to be the official game day venue of the Blaze.”
John Neville, Group Managing Director for Planet Ice added:
The Coventry Blaze are a key partner of Planet Ice in Coventry and we are very happy to be able to build on that relationship.
Both Planet Ice and the Coventry Blaze are very active in the local community so it’s a great move for us to work together to promote ice hockey and ice sports in general throughout the city and beyond.
What we have here is a great, mutually beneficial arrangement that I believe will lead to a strong future for all involved.
We know how much many Blaze supporters see the bar facilities as an important part of their game day experience so we will be making sure that we make that experience as good as we can for them."
