TISTA Science and Technology Corporation, a SDVOSB and 8(a) IT and engineering company, today named retired Air Force Col. William (Bill) George Gregory and retired Navy Rear Adm. Miles B. Wachendorf to its Board of Advisors. They join three other advisors who will provide senior guidance to TISTA’s executive leadership on the direction and growth of the company.
Gregory is a former astronaut who piloted the space shuttle on Space Transportation System 67 in 1995. A retired Air Force colonel, Mr. Gregory has worked in the aerospace industry since his retirement and now serves as an Advanced Instructor Pilot for Fighter Combat International out of Gateway Airport in Mesa, Ariz.
Wachendorf graduated with distinction from U.S. Naval Academy in 1974. He served afloat on both nuclear powered attack and strategic missile submarines of the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets. He commanded both the USS Parche (SSN-683) and the Submarine Development Squadron FIVE in San Diego, Calif. He retired from active duty in 2008 and was recently appointed chief operating officer at SM&A.

- Retired Lt. Gen. Michael D. Maples, former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency
- Retired Lt. Gen. Bob Wood, former director of Joint Experimentation in the U.S. Joint Forces Command
- Albert B. Krachman Esq., legal advisor on government contracting
