EMEA is a strong and growing region for Arbor, ripe for expansion.

Arbor Networks Inc., a leading provider of network security and management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, today announced Colin Gray as the company’s Vice President of the EMEA region. In this role, Gray will be responsible for driving Arbor Networks’ sales and channel initiatives in EMEA as the company continues its expansion in the area.

Gray brings more than 25 years of technology sales and leadership experience with extensive knowledge of the EMEA market in both direct and indirect sales management. He has held senior international and global VP roles at companies such as Network Associates, NetScreen, Ciphertrust, BigFix and ChangeBASE, and brings solutions expertise across security, applications delivery, infrastructure management and compliance to his new role at Arbor.

Arbor Networks has been active in EMEA for more than a decade and its customers include many of the region’s leading network operators. In the past quarter alone, Arbor has announced deployments at Liquid Telecom, Ooredoo, Bezeq International Ltd., and depulsio.

“Arbor has seen rapid growth in EMEA among service providers, mobile operators and enterprise organizations, as all are dealing with the ever-growing DDoS threat. However, we’ve seen a recent uptick among hosting providers where the threat of DDoS is an incredible concern given the multi-tenant nature of their business model, where one attack against a hosting provider can result in a catastrophic domino effect,” said Colin Doherty, President of Arbor Networks. “In addition, we’ve recently signed some of the largest global enterprises headquartered in EMEA across the financial services, e-Commerce and gaming sectors; it’s a very hot and growing region for us. With Colin Gray at the helm in EMEA, I’m confident that his leadership and industry expertise will help us continue to grow and expand in the region.”

“This is a thrilling time to be joining Arbor Networks as EMEA is a dynamic region for the company and an area I’m excited to lead on behalf of the company,” said Colin Gray. “Arbor brings an incredible mix of innovative technology and deep domain expertise to network operators who continue to battle the DDoS and advanced malware threats targeting them today. I’m looking forward to helping them expand even deeper into EMEA in the months and years ahead.”

Arbor Networks® Solutions Portfolio
Many of the world's leading service providers rely on Arbor Networks' Peakflow® SP platform to proactively fend off malicious threats such as botnets and volumetric and application-layer distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, while helping to strengthen the availability and quality of their services. The Peakflow SP platform includes two main components, Peakflow SP and the Threat Management System (TMS). Peakflow SP combines network-wide anomaly detection and traffic engineering with TMS's carrier-class threat management, which automatically detects and surgically removes only attack traffic, while maintaining other business traffic. With the ability to mitigate only the attack traffic, customer-facing services remain available while providers actively mitigate attacks. The Peakflow SP platform also powers many of the world's leading cloud-based DDoS managed security services.

Arbor Network’s Pravail family includes the Pravail® Availability Protection System (APS), which looks out from the network perimeter to detect and mitigate, in real-time, application-layer DDoS attacks. These stealthy attacks are the primary threat to security infrastructure solutions today, which, if compromised, can threaten the very availability of networks themselves. Pravail® Network Security Intelligence (NSI) monitors network traffic data and uses advanced analytics to help organizations close the security gaps left by firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS). It looks inside the network to help protect intellectual property and data from theft or loss caused by advanced malware threats, internal network misuse or abuse, or via infected mobile devices connected to the network.
