Cass County, NE (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- The Cass County (NE) Tourism Committee wants to encourage everyone to attend the Cass County Fair, in Historic Weeping Water, August 6-10 2013. The Cass County Agricultural Society is hosting the fair. The county fair is a local tradition carried out throughout the country during the late summer months. The Cass County Fair is a yearly tradition that brings people together from communities across Cass County in competition and fellowship.
The culinary highlight of the Cass County Fair will be the Nebraska State Championship BBQ Cook-Off. This contest will feature BBQ masters from all over the state and will feature all of your BBQ favorites chicken, pork, beef brisket, pork ribs as well as other categories. People interested in giving everything a taste should be sure not to miss the People’s Choice Public Tasting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday August 9th.
The 2013 fair features several new competitions. Making their first appearances are: Grandparent or special senior friend short essay and picture, the open class recycled garden are contest, the “Edible Bug” contest, Largest pumpkin contest, best sunflower contest, John Deere contest, best angel food cake contest and a sidewalk chalk contest. In addition to those, contests fair-goers will find all of their favorite competitions and fair staples, from food and drink to rides and carnival games. According to Elizabeth Forman “The fair is always such a great opportunity to get together and celebrate the achievements of our neighbors in a great, fun atmosphere. I’ve been looking forward to it all year and it’s just around the corner. I’m so excited.”
