Rockville, MD (PRWEB) August 07, 2013 -- The Village at Rockville—A National Lutheran Community (TVAR) in Rockville, Md., formerly known as The National Lutheran Home, received high marks from families in the Maryland Health Care Commission’s (MHCC) 2013 Nursing Facility Family Survey.
According to MHCC survey results, 98% of families would recommend TVAR’s nursing care to friends and family. Statewide, the survey reports that 90% of respondents would recommend the nursing care they were surveyed about. TVAR received a rating of 9.1 out of 10 for overall care; whereas the statewide average rating is 8.3.
MHCC’s survey sample included 222 nursing facilities throughout the state of Maryland; surveys were sent to the designated responsible parties of residents at each facility. TVAR’s sample size was 129 surveys with a 69% response rate (approximately 85 surveys returned), which is a 10% higher response rate than the state sample.
The 2013 survey contained two overall measures of satisfaction and 17 items which assessed a total of five domains/aspects of resident life and care. Those five domains represented are Staff/Administration of Nursing Home, Care Provided to Residents, Food and Meals, Autonomy and Residents’ Rights, and Physical Aspects of the Nursing Home.
“Out of the five ranked domains, when measured against our peer group categories, TVAR exceeded the 2013 statewide average scores and exceeded or met all of the average scores for Montgomery County,” Executive Director Jana Broughton said. “This is a wonderful affirmation from families that our staff is working hard to exceed care expectations and compassionately support family members’ loved ones.”
