Fire at Nairobi's JKIA, High Demand for Chartered Aircraft in Kenya
Nairobi, Kenya (PRWEB) August 07, 2013 -- Following a fire this morning at Nairobi’s JKIA airport, the authorities have reported that the airport will be closed indefinitely with flights being cancelled or rerouted to neighbouring airports. Nairobi based company Salama Fikira have reported that already there is a high demand for aviation assets in the country. ‘While all activity has stopped at JKIA, there are other airports in the region which are open for business and capable of support privately chartered jet aircraft’ says Jonty van Zeller, Salama Fikira’s aviation specialist. ‘With the country being a regional, financial, and geographical hub, we are finding there are considerable numbers of high profile business personnel who need our assistance to ensure their safe and swift passage.’ While the situation at the airport is now under control, due to the cancelation of services it is expected that there will be continued demand for private chartered aircraft internationally and regionally in the short and medium term.
