Natural Power to open largest renewable energy consulting office in Scotland and celebrate 300th employee
(PRWEB UK) 9 August 2013 -- International renewable energy consultancy Natural Power has confirmed plans to open a substantial new office in Stirling, Scotland.
Opening in Autumn 2013, the office is expected to be the single largest renewable energy consultancy office in Scotland, with capacity for 140 staff. Around 90 staff will transfer from the company’s current central belt locations, leading to significant job creation opportunities over the next 24 months.
The office will be located at Ochil House, a very central office in the town of Stirling, with panoramic views of the Ochil Hills.
Natural Power’s Managing Director, Ted Leeming commented: “Natural Power has been operating in the Central Belt for a number of years now, and due to continued success and growth we have decided to establish a large base for our growing business in Stirling. The office will accommodate some 140 renewable energy experts servicing the onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, marine and biomass sectors. Our iconic headquarters, The Green House, remains the company’s centre of excellence with Stirling acting as our Project Base allowing easier exposure to clients."
Niall Stuart, CEO, Scottish Renewables added: “This is another great example of a Scottish renewable energy company generating new jobs and opportunities to local communities across the Central Belt at this difficult time for the wider economy. It is a significant announcement for the industry because it’s another clear sign that the renewable energy sector is spreading the benefits of its own growth.”
Stirling Council Portfolio Holder for Finance, Economy & Culture Councillor Neil Benny said: "I would like to welcome Natural Power to Stirling. The fact that they want to base their growing business within the city reinforces Stirling as a great place to do business, with excellent transport links to service markets throughout the central belt and Scotland."
Phillip Robinson, Natural Power’s Scottish Enterprise account manager, said, “We’ve been working closely with the team at Natural Power over the last seven years to support them in achieving their business growth ambitions. The account team working with the company brings expertise on business areas such as international trade, R&D, innovation, leadership development and strategic business development to holistically support the company.
“This new office is a milestone in Natural Power’s success, and highlights the real opportunities for growth in the renewable energy sector, both in Scotland and globally. We’ve assisted with these new premises through a Regional Selective Assistance grant which will contribute to the overall project, creating up to 50 new jobs in the Stirling area.”
Through their local presence, Natural Power will provide services to clients in Scotland, as well as supporting the rest of the UK and its international client base in:
• Planning & Development Services
• Ecology & Hydrology Services
• Wind Technical Services
