Digital Marketing Firm ClickThrough Raises Cash for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
(PRWEB UK) 8 August 2013 -- ClickThrough Marketing has donated cash to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, after it helped a staff member’s son out of a scrape in Lichfield.
Alan Rowe, head of web development at the digital marketing firm, relied on Midland Air Ambulance’s swift response when his son, Laurie, suffered a fall at a local library.
The life-saving charity flew in to take Laurie Rowe to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, where he was treated for cuts and later made a full recovery.
Coincidentally, ClickThrough Marketing had already chosen Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as beneficiary for proceeds from its Future of Search roundtable event.
The event, held in June, raised £376.65 through ticket sales, which was presented to the charity last month.
Phil Robinson, ClickThrough’s founder and commercial director, said: “We’re proud of our Lichfield roots here at ClickThrough, so we’re always looking to help out local charities where we can.
“Midlands Air Ambulance helps save lives across the region, so when we started planning our Future of Search event, it was obvious they’d be the perfect beneficiary for cash raised.
“When we saw the paper and read about Laurie’s accident, and the kind, professional conduct of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s team, it really brought home how important they are to the local community.
“On behalf of everyone at ClickThrough, I’d like to extend our thanks to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and our deepest gratitude for the life-saving work it carries out.”
Alan Rowe added: “Both the ambulance staff and Midlands Air Ambulance crew were fantastic and incredibly professional.
“The pilot and paramedics managed my wife’s shock incredibly well and as the ambulance flew off to Stoke, I knew Laurie was in very safe hands.
“They helped make Laurie’s ordeal a little less stressful, delivered an outstanding standard of care and efficiency, and acted as a friendly face when we needed it most.”
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates three air ambulances across communities in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and the West Midlands.
It covers the largest and busiest air ambulance operating region in the UK.
The charity receives no funding from the Government or National Lottery, and relies on donations from local businesses and generous individuals.
Jo Bailey, fundraising manager at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Although no one plans to rely on the air ambulance, we airlift an average of 300 people per month and a good proportion of the accidents we attend involve youngsters.
“We are extremely grateful to the team at ClickThrough Marketing for choosing us as their Future Search beneficiary and for raising the money for our service, as every penny will go towards saving further lives across the region.”
