This is basically 'free money' for the participant and indicates the value that CAPS places on its employees. With the additional contribution, the employees realize an enormous benefit that very few employers provide.

Custom Air Products & Services, Inc. (CAPS), a leading commercial and industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) company based in Houston, Texas is pleased to announce that on July 26, 2013, a discretionary contribution was made to the company’s 401K plan. This marks the ninth year in a row that the company has made an additional discretionary contribution into the plan. This contribution is in addition to the four percent company match that has been a part of the plan since 2007.

Since 2005, Custom Air Products & Services has made company contributions in excess of $2,000,000 into the plan. Currently, the plan has a total value in excess of $5,000,000.

Custom Air Products & Services CFO Bob Love stated, “This most recent contribution continues the company’s commitment to a well-rounded benefit package for us at CAPS. It has been a privilege to be a part of the company’s strong and solid growth over these last years. The 401K plan is just one of the benefits established or enhanced during this same time frame. CAPS' commitment and contributions to the 401K plan is truly amazing.”

Jack Schubert of Fred J. Schubert Insurance Agency, Inc., adviser for CAPS since 2005, also had this to say. “There are fewer employers providing their employees with a 401K plan to save for retirement and even fewer that offer a safe harbor plan which encourages employees to participate. Should the employee elect to contribute 5% of their pay into the 401K plan, CAPS will deposit up to 4% of the employee’s contribution into their 401K. This is basically ‘free money’ for the participant and indicates the value that CAPS places on its employees. With the additional contribution, the employees realize an enormous benefit that very few employers provide.”
