Visible Health announced today the release of a major update to their leading patient education iPad apps, the drawMD series. This announcement also coincides with the addition of a new specialty app to the drawMD series as well as the introduction of Visible Health Connect, a new platform which will become the basis of future features to enhance patient-clinician collaboration. With over 400,000 App Store downloads and hailed as a "must-have" iPad app for physicians, drawMD is one of the top apps used by medical professionals at the point of care.
Leading the release is a brand-new Ophthalmology iPad app. The addition of Ophthalmology brings their growing specialty-based drawMD family to 13 apps. Featuring the same easy to use platform, the drawMD Ophthalmology app gives eye care specialists a tool to help educate patients at the point of care and beyond. The new app includes 6 highly-detailed views of the face, eye, retina, and more, including overlays to help explain a wide variety of major eye conditions and procedures. As with all existing drawMD apps, drawMD Ophthalmology is free for download on the App Store.
The drawMD series has been completely redesigned with the release of drawMD 3, previously only available in Urology, OB/GYN and Female Pelvic Surgery drawMD apps. Incorporated are a multitude of usability enhancements and feature requests, including:
- Better organization of backgrounds, stamps, and saved drawings
- Enhanced stamp manipulation tools
- Full screen drawing and presentation mode
- New layers tool that gives you much finer grained control over visibility
- Search and filter stamps, as well as apply any stamp within the app to any background
Finally, the Visible Health Connect platform is being released as a limited open beta. "We needed to make it easier for our team to deliver the content our users demand as well as create a platform that gives voice to our users," said John Cox, CEO of Visible Health. Visible Health Connect membership and its features are being offered for free during the limited, open beta period. As part of the current beta release, Visible Health Connect registration unlocks:
