Author Helayne Waldman to Sign her Book, The Whole-Food Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors, and Speak One-on-One to Attendees at the National Women’s Survivors Convention
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) August 07, 2013 -- Helayne Waldman, co-author of The Whole-Food Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors, will appear at the National Women’s Survivors Convention Book Expo to sign her book and speak one-on-one to attendees. The convention will be held August 22-24, 2013 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee.
The National Women’s Survivors Convention is sponsored by the Women Survivors Alliance, a Nashville-based, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. Co-founder, Judy Pearson, remarked, “Our mission is to help women who are cancer survivors develop their ‘new life plan’. Helayne Waldman’s book, The Whole-Food Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors, contains vital information that every woman should know, and we are thrilled that Helayne will sign books and speak to one-on-one to attendees. We are also thrilled that Spry and Spryliving.com will sponsor our Book Expo.”
Helayne Waldman, ED.D., M.S., CNE, is a holistic health educator who specializes in providing nutritional support for those with breast cancer. Along with speaking at conferences around the world, Helayne consults with oncologists and surgeons. Donald I. Abrams, MD Integrative Oncology at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine stated, “The Whole-Food Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors is on the top of my list of recommended reading that I share with patients I see in consultation. Helayne is able to transmit complex yet essential information in a clear and concise way that can lead to health-promoting behavioral change!”
In addition to the Book Expo, the three-day convention contains a content-rich program including interactive workshops, networking opportunities, and keynote presentations by famous personalities who are also cancer survivors. On the last day there will be a “Salute to Survivors All Star Concert” at the Grand Ole Opry featuring Martina McBride and hosted by Scott Hamilton.
Judy Pearson added, “Cancer is a line in the sand in life: There's the you before cancer, and the you after cancer. The after-cancer life can be wonderful, but knowing how to navigate the gray waters of survivorship can be scary and confusing. That's why we're here and why we created the Women Survivors Alliance and the National Women Survivors Convention.”
