The one-millionth bottle and nine other bottles will have commemorative Golden Corks. Those who open a golden cork bottle will win prizes that include a grand prize trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley with a steam-train tour through California wine country.

The Golden Cork contest is a fun way to celebrate our 10-year anniversary and thank customers who have helped Keel and Curley grow from a small family winery in 2003 to one of the biggest wineries in the Southeast.

Florida’s biggest blueberry winery and second largest winery, Keel and Curley, is proud to announce its Golden Cork contest to celebrate 10 years in business and one million bottles sold.

The contest is a fun play on the Willie Wonka Golden Ticket, but in this case ten corks will be sent out to stores in Keel and Curley wine bottles. Customers who find golden corks will gather at the winery on October 10, 2013 to compete for the grand prize trip to Napa Valley where they will enjoy a steam train tour to famous California wineries. The nine other winners will receive gift baskets filled with Keel and Curley products, a case of their favorite Keel and Curley wine, along with certificates for complimentary winery tours and tastings.

The Golden Cork contest is a way to celebrate and thank customers who have helped Keel and Curley grow from a small family winery in 2003 to one of the biggest wineries in the Southeast. Its wines are sold in 1,500 stores including Publix, Walmart and Total Wine.

“We launched the winery to utilize excess blueberries that our farm produced each year by making wine in small batches in the kitchen of our farm house,” said Joe Keel, Founder and President of Keel and Curley Winery. “Today we use 150,000 pounds of blueberries annually in our large bottling facility to keep up with customer demand for our award-winning wines.”

Keel and Curley produces three types of blueberry wines, each with a very distinct taste. A sweet wine, a semi-dry wine, and a dry wine. All three wines are made from 100% blueberries. In 2011, Keel & Curley debuted two new wines - Dry Blackberry and Sweet Blackberry. Both are made with 100% blackberries.

Keel and Curley also offers seven different Fusion wines. Fusion wines are wines that are fused, or blended wines. They are ninety-percent grape based wines, (e.g. Merlot or chardonnay) blended with fruit juices (strawberry, key lime or tangerine).

*About Keel and Curley Winery

Keel and Curley Winery began in Joe Keel’s kitchen in 2003. Keel, a central Florida blueberry farmer wanted to find a use for his end-of-crop blueberries. As in most produce farming, once the market price falls too low, farms stop harvesting their crops, but there are still lots of quality blueberries on the bushes. Rather than waste this perfectly good harvest, Keel decided to try his hand at blueberry wine. Ten years later, Keel and Curley Winery has won more than 250 awards for excellence in wine making and has produced nearly 1,000,000 bottles.
