US Speedskating Partners with Crowdfunder Rallyme.com
Kearns, UT (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- US Speedskating (USS), the National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of speedskating in the U.S., announced today a partnership with the online fundraising platform RallyMe, a Utah-based company, to be the official crowdfunding provider for USS and its athletes. Through the “Feed the Speed” Campaign, US Speedskating and RallyMe will host a 45-day funding drive to raise money for the USS Athlete-Meal-a-Day Program, an initiative offering free daily lunches to USS athletes.
RallyMe.com is the top crowdfunding site for athletes, teams and sports-related organizations. US Speedskating joins a prestigious list of other NGB's that have successfully partnered with the company, including the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and USA Bobsled and Skeleton Federation.
FEED THE SPEED CAMPAIGN
On August 12, USS will launch a 45-day funding drive through RallyMe to raise money for an innovative athlete meal program. The goal of the drive is to raise $50,000, which will go toward providing healthy meals for athletes in the National Training Program. Contributions — which come with official team gear — can be made at usspeedskating.org/rallyme.
“We are always looking for creative ways to diversify our funding model and bring in resources that help support our athletes,” said Tamara Castellano, Director of Marketing for US Speedskating. “Crowdfunding is something new for us, however, with the success others have had, I sincerely believe this is a great way for US Speedskating as a whole to reach a broader audience.”
As part of the agreement, individual USS athletes who raise funds on RallyMe will be featured on a special team partner page, allowing funders to easily access elite team athletes. RallyMe’s safe and secure online platform provides sophisticated tools and templates to help USS athletes or “Ralliers” easily share their personal stories and fundraising message across social media venues. “US Speedskating athletes represent cities across the nation and are consistently among the best in the world,” said Bill Kerig, Founder and CEO of RallyMe. “We’re thrilled to form an alliance with USS and help support more athletes achieving their dreams.”
