Texas Society of CPAs Announces New Officers to Serve on Executive Board
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 10, 2013 -- Dallas tax attorney and certified public accountant William (Willie) H. Hornberger was recently elected chairman of the 27,000-member Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). Hornberger will serve a one-year term as the Society’s volunteer leader and will chair the organization’s board of directors, which sets policy, manages programs and oversees activities designed to serve Texas CPAs.
Joining Hornberger as TSCPA officers are Mark D. Lee, chairman-elect, Houston; Susan S. Roberts, secretary, Fort Worth; Jeannette P. Smith, treasurer, McAllen; and James R. Oliver, Jr., treasurer-elect, San Antonio.
Along with these TSCPA officers Hornberger, Lee, Roberts, Smith and Oliver, the following Texas CPAs will serve on the TSCPA Executive Board:
- Ryan G. Bartholomee, Midland;
- Michael L. Brown, Waco;
- Jesse Dominguez, Austin;
- Kirby H. Jackson, Jr., Dallas;
- Kathryn W. Kapka, Tyler;
- Christina A. Mondrik, Austin;
- Joan E. Schwartz, San Angelo;
- Jerry D. Spence, Jr., Corpus Christi; and
- Lei D. Testa, Fort Worth.
Hornberger is a CPA and tax lawyer at Jackson Walker L.L.P. in Dallas. His practice emphasizes transactional and international tax matters and tax controversy issues. Hornberger has held numerous leadership positions within TSCPA and the Dallas Chapter. In addition to being a CPA, he has served on the board of directors of the Real Estate Council Foundation of Dallas and The Covenant School. He has served on the executive committee of the Holocaust Museum of Dallas. He currently serves on the board of directors of AVANCE-Dallas, Inc..
Hornberger received his undergraduate degree in accounting, with high honors, and his J.D. degree, with honors, from The University of Texas. He also has an LL.M. in taxation from New York University.
