CHICAGO (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- August 8, 2013 – Pamela G. Smith joined the Chicago office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a shareholder in the Litigation practice.
Smith is an experienced trial lawyer with more than 20 years of experience advising publicly traded companies, directors, and officers and defending them against alleged violations of the securities laws and alleged breaches of fiduciary duties asserted by shareholders, whistleblowers, auditors, and government regulators, including the Securities & Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice.
In private actions, Smith has defended clients in federal securities class actions alleging violations of Sections 11, 12(a)(1), 12(a)(2) and 15 of the Securities Act and Sections 10(b), 14(a), 18(a) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange, as well as in shareholder direct class actions, shareholder derivative actions, and Mergers and Acquisitions litigation. Smith’s practice encompasses a wide range of industries including aerospace, financial institutions, health care, manufacturing, software, telecommunications and retail.
“We are delighted to be adding someone of Pam’s caliber to our already strong securities litigation team both in Chicago and throughout the firm,” said Paul T. Fox, co-managing shareholder of the Chicago office. “Her skills and experience are a perfect fit for our firm.”
