APSP Career Institute Announces Upcoming Classes and Certification Courses at 2013 International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo
ALEXANDRIA, VA (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) Career Institute, the nation’s premier pool, spa, and hot tub education provider, announces advanced classes and certification courses for pool and spa builders, designers and service providers at the 2013 International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo, being held Nov. 9-14 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
Builders, designers and contractors can attend the APSP Pool & Spa Construction Course (PSCC), a program for those who want to build quality and energy efficiency into their installations and want to enhance their technical expertise. The PSCC program is a three-day program that walks attendees through the APSP Builder’s Manual in an effort to help them fully prepare for the APSP CBP Certified Building Professional® exam. Attendees who successfully complete the course receive the full 24 technical hours required to take the CBP exam. (note: attendees must also have five years of industry experience to qualify for the exam).
“APSP education and certification programs help develop industry professionalism," Director of Professional Development Michael Reed said. "With the programs we hold at Expo, we’re giving individuals the knowledge they need to develop a culture of quality within their businesses, and additional tools to market themselves and get more business. These are fun events where people learn a lot, while expanding their professional networks."
The APSP CSP Certified Service Professional® Prep Course is available to industry professionals seeking to achieve the APSP CSP Certified Service Professional® designation. This one-day course (six technical hours) reviews each subject in the APSP Service Tech Manual, and is designed to help pool service technicians focus on key areas covered in the CBP exam. Those that quality may take the CSP exam on-site at Expo.
APSP is also offering the ANSI/ICC Energy Efficiency Certificate (EEC) course and the APSP CHTT Certified Hot Tub Technician® Course. The ECC is a comprehensive course built to help you design, install and pass inspection on consumer-friendly, energy-efficient pools and spas. The CHTT, meanwhile, is a two-day program (16 technical hours) that focuses on the specialized needs of technicians who service and repair different makes and models of hot tubs. Those that quality may take the CSP exam on-site at Expo.
In addition to featured courses, the APSP Pavilion adds an extra dimension to the learning experience at Expo with hands-on, interactive seminars throughout the week. These 40-minute workshops cover a variety of topics and are led by some of the industry's finest, including Pentair. Best of all, attendance to these workshops is free with all registration packages.
“We are thrilled to have the best instructors from leading manufacturers and the best service providers in the industry available to teach our members the latest techniques for handling some of the industry’s most challenging service, repair, and renovation issues in an interactive, hands-on format,” APSP President and CEO Bill Weber said. “These classes will present a unique opportunity for our members to ask questions and receive immediate attention from a variety of industry experts.”
