Milwaukee Carnival Music Festival at The Horny Goat Hideaway on Saturday August 24th
Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) August 10, 2013 -- In 1898 the Mayor of Milwaukee, David Rose decided that Milwaukee needed to throw a huge party to celebrate Wisconsin’s 50th year as a state. A group of young professionals created an association tilted the Carnival Association. Their effort along with Rose’s created an event that rivaled Mardi Gras called the Milwaukee Carnival. Thousands of people would come to Milwaukee for a weeklong celebration that included parades, concerts, pageants, fire department competitions, fireworks and more. The Association ran out of steam and the event only lasted 4 years ending in 1902.
Michael Sampson Events (MSE) which has organized such city events as Milwaukee Oktoberfest, The Shamrock Shuffle, and the Young Milwaukee Holiday Gala has teamed up with Weekend Natives Entertainment to give a modern spin on a historical Milwaukee event. Their goal is to start with local music talent and art and work to progress the event into the future. This event is being recreated after a 111 year hiatus. The event will take place at the Horny Goat Hideaway and will feature performances by local bands Boy Blue, Kane Place Record Club, Dead Man’s Carnival and Fresh Cut Collective. The event will also feature local DJ’s Mighty Thor, Chris V, Why B, and James Dece and also bring in some National talent with DJ Willy Joy, Benzi and Phenom.
The event will also feature great local food and beer specials from Horny Goat, local artists and vendors, Carnival Events and day activities. Tickets are on sale now at milwaukeecarnival.com
